site 5b, paradise street, liverpool

client: Grosvenor Estates

Paradise Place is a retail and residential project that forms part of the £900m redevelopment of Liverpool undertaken by Grosvenor Estates, which comprises a key element in Liverpool’s preparations for European City of Culture 2008.

The building accommodates two floors of retail, 23 apartments and basement parking. The design is a response to the historic warehouses that once existed on the site. It utilises a limited palette of brick piers and stone string courses, which act as a foil to the dramatic cantilevered glazed box that ‘marks’ the corner at Paradise Place.
